The market leaders in the science, manufacture and application of hypochlorous acid has added six new faces to its team based in Duns in the Scottish Borders.
Lee-Anne Gillie joins as Commercial Director, with Vicki Whetton joining as Marketing Director, Nicky Woods as Production Controller, Allan Hossack as Quality & Regulatory Manager, Samantha Jackson as Customer Services Controller and Emma Cleghorn as PA.
Aqualution Systems Ltd is the global expert and the active substance regulatory dossier holder for hypochlorous acid for both the EU and the UK. Hypochlorous Acid is one of the most effective known biocides, able to kill 99.9999% of bacteria and viruses including Covid-19, whilst being non-toxic and requiring no PPE to administer. Aqualution Systems is the only company to have developed successful processes for manufacturing the biocide which keeps it stable once the bottle is opened, without compromising its effectiveness.
As well as manufacturing for other healthcare brands, Aqualution also sell its own brands direct to businesses and through distributors and is widely used for infection control in healthcare and by companies including Network Rail and First Bus and is currently working on its third project with the NHS.
With the need to manage infection control for people and places safely, whilst maintaining business efficiency, many more companies are turning to hypochlorous acid for their infection control measures which has resulted in Aqualution doubling turnover in 2020 and is on-track to quadruple in 2021.
Lee-Anne Gillie has had a long-standing career in the health and hygiene sector and joins Aqualution having previously been a Director at Ecolab Inc and RP Adam Ltd (Arpal Group) prior to its take-over in 2017. She is also currently the Chair of the Scottish Borders Chamber of Commerce.
Vicki Whetton was previously a Director at Edinburgh based strategic consultancy, Genoa Black, and will be overseeing the marketing of Aqualution and its brands in the UK and in key new markets including UAE, Saudi Arabia and Europe.
CEO of Aqualution, Nick Meakin said, “We are delighted to be able to expand our team as we continue to grow in the UK, Europe and Middle East providing infection control solutions to a multitude of sectors and keeping people and places protected.”
Gillie added, “I am thrilled to be joining Aqualution at such an exciting time for the company. Hypochlorous acid as an effective yet safe infection control solution has been on my radar for many years but is finally getting the awareness and traction it deserves.”
